We get that buying gifts for the females in your life is both difficult and probably one of your least favorite things to do.nevertheless, you still have to do it. Hopefully whoever you are buying for is understanding enough to accept that every gift won’t be perfect and every now and then you’ll slip up and buy us something we just don’t want. But to help avoid this catastrophe as often as possible, we’ve come up with a few categories of gifts you should steer clear of. Think of these items as the Kevin Federlines of the gift world.
- The Practical Gift: A gift is meant to be something that you wouldn’t ordinarily buy for yourself. Never buy a woman something that she “needs” like an appliance or a new vacuum cleaner. These gifts are also things that require work whether it be cooking or cleaning. A gift should bring some luxury or relaxation, not housework. Women like to play this fun little game where we speak in codes and say the opposite of what we really mean. Actually, we don’t consciously do it, and there’s no real explanation or logic behind it. Being able to read between the lines of our gift hints will take you a long way in finding the right gift for any occasion.Even though you may mean it, when we say “you don’t have to get me anything,” we don’t really mean that at all. If you take this to heart and show up empty handed you will probably have an unhappy lady on your hands. Even if you and your significant other agree to forego presents for a certain holiday, at least get her a card or a small gift.
